RF Tests

A good RF performance of a digital TV receiver is essential for error-free, high-quality TV reception; even more so in challenging weather, geographical or network topology conditions. For this reason, many network operators and industry associations have defined their own RF specifications and parameters to ensure that the receivers perform well in their local networks. These parameters may vary considerably from one network to another.

Labwise is an expert of these RF specifications and can therefore test the receivers' RF performance against the specifications and in live local TV networks. For the front-end RF testing of receivers Labwise uses the R&S SFU Broadcast Test System. The SFU is equipped to allow full conformance tests according to the DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-C modulation standards and against the NorDig, E-book and D-book specifications. The SFU is calibrated annually according to the device manufacturer's instructions.
